Aftercare
How to look after your skin once you get home. Open your treatment to see what to do in the days that follow.
Laser hair removal
What you do in the days after laser makes a real difference to your result.
- Keep away from sweat and bacteria for 48 hours: no gym, hot showers, pools or spas
- Wear loose clothes so the treated skin can breathe
- Stay out of direct sun and put on SPF 50+ every day for two weeks
- From day five, exfoliate lightly to help the hair shed and stop ingrown hairs
- For facial laser, leave retinol alone for three days before and after
Laser tattoo removal
Looking after the area properly helps it heal and avoids complications.
- For the first 48 hours, keep the area clean, dry and covered
- Try not to touch, scratch or pick at it
- Use a gentle, fragrance-free healing cream as your therapist directs
- No direct sun, sunbeds or swimming for at least 7 days
- Keep makeup and active products such as retinol or acids off the area for a week
Facials and skin treatments
Skin can feel fresh, warm or a little flushed afterwards. That is normal.
- Hold off on makeup, heat and exercise for 24 hours
- Skip exfoliants and actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) for 3 to 5 days
- Wear SPF 50+ every day
- Keep skin hydrated with a gentle, nourishing moisturiser
- Leave the skin alone while it settles, with no touching or picking
Skin needling
Needling makes tiny controlled injuries to trigger collagen, and the right care helps the skin rebuild.
- Keep your hands off your face for 12 hours
- Go without makeup for 24 to 48 hours
- No heat, sweating or exercise for 48 hours
- Only use the aftercare products your therapist recommends
- Leave actives such as retinol, acids and vitamin C alone for 7 days
- Wear SPF 50+ whenever you are outside
Teeth whitening
Teeth are more porous straight after whitening, so they stain and feel sensitive more easily.
- For 48 hours, avoid anything that stains: coffee, tea, red wine, tomato sauces and berries
- Stick to pale foods such as rice, chicken, fish, potato, milk and clear drinks
- Do not smoke for 48 hours
- If your teeth feel a little sensitive, use a sensitive toothpaste
- Brush gently, and skip strongly coloured mouthwash for two days
Lashes and brows
A few easy habits keep your brows and lashes looking fresh for longer.
- Keep them dry for the first 24 hours
- No oils, makeup or serums near the area for 48 hours
- Stay out of steam rooms and pools for 48 hours
- Brush them through each day with a clean spoolie
- After a tint, keep harsh cleansers and exfoliants away from the area
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning leaves skin smooth and bright, and it needs a gentle touch for a few days.
- No makeup for 24 hours
- Skip exfoliants and actives for 5 to 7 days
- Wear SPF 50+ every day
- Keep skin hydrated with gentle, nourishing products
- Avoid sweating and direct sun for 48 hours
Body contouring, RF tightening and EMS ProSculpt
These treatments tone, tighten and shape, and good aftercare helps you get the most from them.
- Drink at least 2 litres of water a day for the next 72 hours
- Cut out alcohol, caffeine and processed food for 24 hours
- A gentle walk helps your lymphatic system do its job
- Avoid heat such as spas and hot showers for 24 hours
- Book your sessions as often as your therapist advises
Pigmentation reduction
Laser breaks down excess pigment, so protecting the skin while it heals matters.
- Keep out of the sun and wear SPF 50+ every day for at least 2 weeks
- Leave any flaking or crusting alone, with no picking or scratching
- Skip active skincare for 5 to 7 days
- Keep the skin cool and well hydrated
- Avoid a lot of heat, exercise and swimming for 48 hours
